Calculate your exact FBA fee + fuel surcharge for your size tier
Run the numbers →What it is
The FBA fulfillment fee is the per-unit cost Amazon charges to pick, pack, and ship each order. It covers 2-day Prime delivery to the customer. The fee is based on the product's size tier (Small Standard through Extra-Large) and the higher of actual weight or dimensional weight. It does not include storage fees, referral fees, or the April 17 fuel surcharge — those are separate line items.
2026 standard FBA fulfillment fees
Effective January 15, 2026. Does not include 3.5% fuel surcharge (add April 17+). Non-apparel, non-dangerous-goods.

Dimensional weight — when it overrides actual weight
For all tiers except Small Standard and Extra-Large 150+ lb, Amazon uses whichever is higher: actual weight or dimensional weight.
dimensionalWeight = (L × W × H in inches) / 139
12" × 8" × 4" box: (12 × 8 × 4) / 139 = 2.76 lb dimensional weight
If actual weight = 1.5 lb → Amazon bills at 2.76 lb (Large Standard 2.5–3 lb band)
FBA fee: $6.26 instead of $5.57 → $0.69 extra per unit
This catches a lot of brands selling lightweight products in unnecessarily large packaging. A 1 lb product in an oversized box can be billed at 3–4× its actual weight. Optimizing your packaging dimensions is one of the fastest ROI improvements available to most brands.

What most brands miss
Most brand P&L models are built around the FBA fee at the time the product launched. That number is now wrong on two counts: the January 15 increase and the April 17 surcharge. Brands running models from Q4 2025 are showing themselves an FBA cost that's 8–12% lower than what Amazon is actually charging. If your model says your CM is 32%, your real CM might be 28%.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Amazon FBA fulfillment fee? ▾
A per-unit fee Amazon charges to pick, pack, and ship each order from its fulfillment centers. The fee depends on the product's size tier and shipping weight (or dimensional weight, whichever is higher for most tiers). It does not include storage, referral fees, or the 2026 fuel surcharge.
How much did FBA fees increase in 2026? ▾
Amazon's stated average increase was approximately $0.08/unit, effective January 15, 2026. Some sellers report an effective increase of 8–10% when accounting for dimensional weight changes and new surcharges. The April 17 fuel surcharge (3.5%) adds further on top.
What is dimensional weight and when does it apply? ▾
Dimensional weight = (length × width × height) / 139 for standard-size items. Amazon uses whichever is higher — actual weight or dimensional weight — for all tiers except Small Standard and Extra-Large 150+ lb (which use actual weight only). If your product has large packaging relative to its weight, dimensional weight likely governs your fee.
What is the Low-Price FBA discount? ▾
For items priced under $10, Amazon automatically applies a $0.86/unit discount off the standard FBA fee (up from $0.77 in 2025). This discount is applied at the time of the fulfillment fee assessment — you don't need to opt in.
Does the FBA fee include Amazon Prime shipping? ▾
Yes. The FBA fulfillment fee covers 2-day Prime delivery for eligible items. You're paying Amazon to handle picking, packing, and shipping — including the Prime label. There's no separate charge to the seller for the Prime benefit.
Are apparel and dangerous goods FBA fees different? ▾
Yes. Apparel items have a slightly higher FBA fee schedule due to handling requirements. Dangerous goods (hazmat) have a premium schedule above apparel. If your product is classified as a dangerous good by Amazon (batteries, aerosols, flammable liquids), you're on the dangerous goods rate — which can be $0.50–$1.50/unit higher than standard.
